Dr. Dean is a clinical neuropsychologist who has been evaluating and treating individuals with psychological and neuropsychological conditions for over 15 years. Dr. Dean holds licensure as a clinical psychologist (PSY21280) and has been board-certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP-CN). He is also a qualified medical evaluator (QME) for the state of California. He graduated with summa cum laude honors from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and then obtained a doctoral degree in counseling psychology from USC, minoring in neuroscience. He completed an internship in neuropsychology at the University of Chicago Medical Center, as well as a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Dean is an Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA where he trains graduate students in neuropsychological assessment and conducts research on cognition and brain function. He has received several grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH) and other foundations for research projects investigating dementia, brain structure and drug abuse. He has also published extensively on these conditions in peer-reviewed academic journals.
