Dr. Andrew (Andy) C. Dean is a clinical psychologist and board-certified neuropsychologist.  He specializes in psychotherapy and the assessment of cognition, mood and personality in the context of psychiatric and brain disorders. Assessment leads to proper diagnosis and individually-tailored treatment recommendations. In certain medical-legal situations, assessment may also be sought to document how an injury has affected an individual’s cognitive and emotional functioning. Dr. Dean specializes in evaluating and treating adults who may be experiencing:

  • Psychiatric conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD)
  • Drug and alcohol abuse
  • ADHD
  • Memory problems (e.g., age-related decline, dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease)
  • Head injury and concussion
  • Stroke and vascular disease
  • Neurological conditions (e.g., multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy)

 

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Dean is also an Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA where he trains doctoral students in neuropsychological assessment and conducts research on cognition and brain function.
